European Reference Networks (ERNs) are virtual networks involving healthcare providers across Europe. They aim to tackle complex or rare diseases and conditions that require highly specialised treatment and concentrated knowledge and resources. The first ERNs have started to work this March 2017, involving more than 900 highly-specialised healthcare units from over 300 hospitals in 26 Member States.
After the kick off conference held last 9th March in Vilnius, a set of dissemination material (flyer, brochure and video) have been prepared by the European Commission with the aim of rising awareness on the meaning, objectives and expected outcomes of the 24 ERNs.
