The overall coordination of EuroBloodNet will rotate among the two oncological and non-oncological hubs, being Prof. Fenaux the main coordinator for the first period.

The governance and coordination of EuroBloodNet will be continuously supported by the activities of two functional structures: the Board of the Network (BoN) and Scientific and Strategic Board (SSB). In addition, an Independent Advisory Board has been established for seeking advice on specific issues.

Board of the Network (BoN)

The Board of the Network (BoN) is the decision-making body. It is chaired by the ERN coordinator and composed of all member representatives and patient association representatives (ePAGs).

The main function of the BoN is to

  • Guarantee the smooth running of EuroBloodNet, oversee development of services and assess their impact.
  • Adopt the legal framework for collaboration with third parties, as European Infraestructures for Research, Industries…
  • Develop funding strategies for long-term sustainability
  • Elect coordinators of the two main hubs, the heads of sub-networks and the heads of fields of transversal actions, and approve the multi-annual work plan (MWP) developed by the Scientific and Strategic Board (SSB).
