ELIXIR publishes 10 rules for making training materials FAIR

The implementation of the 10 rules allows the FAIRification of the training material, making them Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable

Training materials are key requisites for scientists to explore the increasingly data-focused aspects of their specialities. However, finding appropriate materials may be challenging given their scattered and siloed availability and the lack of metadata for their reusability.

In order to cope with these barriers, the ELIXIR FAIR Training working group has developed the following 10 rules for training materials FAIRification, making them Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable:

  1. Share
  2. Describe properly
  3. Give a unique identity
  4. Register online
  5. Define access rules
  6. Use interoperable format
  7. Make (re)usable for trainers
  8. Make usable for trainees
  9. Welcome contributions
  10. Keep materials up-to-date
