Speakers: Jan Menne
Prof. Jan Menne is the head of the department of Nephrology, vascular Medicine and Rheumatology at the KRH Klinikum Siloah. Prior to his current position, he has been working for more than 10 years as a consultant nephrologist and head of the study unit in the Department of Nephrology and Hypertension at Hannover Medical School, Hannover, Germany. He studied medicine at the Free University in Berlin, Germany and at Tufts University in Boston, MA, USA. Since 2009, he has been involved in the treatment of patients with aHUS and has treated more than 120 patients. He analysed the German 2011 EHEC-HUS outbreak and has collected the data from 95% of the affected patients. Since 2019, he has collected with colleagues from Cologne all data of German TTP patients treated with Caplacizumab. He co-authored the German guidelines on diabetic nephropathy and has been involved in many studies related to resistant hypertension. He has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
