Clinical Patient Management System 2.0

The European Commission's DG SANTÉ has provided ERNs with the Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS), a secure, web-based application designed to assist the networks in delivering expert care for the diagnosis and treatment of rare or low-prevalence complex diseases or conditions across national borders.

To improve functionality and user experience, the existing CPMS has been upgraded to a new version, CPMS 2.0. This new version is available from December 20, 2024. Existing cases will automatically by migrated to the new version mid January 2025.

What's new?

  • Streamlined Sign-Up Process: The sign-up process has been simplified. Users can now create or access their accounts directly through EU login in CPMS 2.0, eliminating the need for SAAS and making the process faster and more user-friendly.
  • Expert Invitations: Users can now invite ERN experts directly, improving collaboration and communication.
  • Meeting Function: Users can organize meetings for specific patient cases as well as general care discussions.
  • Controlled Access to Patient Data: A patient's information is accessible only to the enrolling clinician and their designated assistant, ensuring better privacy and control over sensitive data.
  • Patient Discussion Invitations: Users will receive calendar invites linked to patient discussion meetings.
  • Improved Communication Tools: A 1:1 chat function is now available, enabling informal conversations with individuals or group chats, promoting faster communication.

Access to CPMS 2.0

  • Click Here to access CPMS 2.0
  • You had access to CPMS 1.0:  You have been automatically migrated to CPMS 2.0
  • You had NO access to CPMS 1.0:
    • If you do not yet have an EU Login account:
      • Create a EU login (step by step guide here)
      • You will be shown the "SIGN UP" workflow, indicate who you are, where you work, what is your expertise or if you are just a guest of the system. After finishing this flow, EuroBloodNet will receive a notification that you have requested access to CPMS 2.0. Once approved, you can go back and start using CPMS 2.0 
    • If you already have a user account for EU Login please login via https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/cas/login

To access CPMS 2.0, the European Commission has created different materials:

  • This video walks you through the process of signing up, whether as an ERN clinicial or a guest. Watch the video: "How to sign up to CPMS 2.0? "
  • Attached document aims at assisting you in your first contacts with the CPMS 2.0 IT platform.
  • A training environment has been set up to enable you to explore all the system's features without using real patient data Test CPMS 2.0 
  • When using the real system (with real patients), please make sure you always follow the data privacy procedures of your hospital
