EHA & ERN-EuroBloodNet Spotlight on Hypereosinophilic Syndrome

EHA & ERN-EuroBloodNet Spotlight on Hypereosinophilic (HES) is an accredited European online educational program targeting health professionals organized by EHA and ERN-EuroBloodNet.

The program consists of a cycle of 4 Webinars focused on HES developed in collaboration with two experts, members of the EHA and the ERN-EuroBloodNet: Professor Massimo Breccia from AOU Policlinico Umberto I in Rome, Italy, and Professor Florence Roufosse from Hôpital Universitaire de Bruxelles (HUB), Site Erasme, Brussels, Belgium (Université Libre de Bruxelles)

The main objective of this program is to disseminate up-to-date knowledge among interested haematologists, internists, paediatricians, or other healthcare providers to give visibility to cutting-edge advances in the field of HES.

This program is accredited by the European Board of Accreditation in Hematology. Participants will receive 1 Continuing Medical Education points when they take part in one online webinar.

EHA & ERN-EuroBloodNet Spotlight on HES is conducted using the Zoom Platform. It allows full audio and visual communication, as well as, the interaction between the webinar's speaker and participants. Each Webinars will last one hour including speakers presentation and Questions & Answers session from the hearers. In addition, they are always held on the same day of the week and time slot: Monday at 5 pm (CET), from April to June 2024.

PROGRAM

N°1 Eosinophils, Hypereosinophilia and Hypereosinophilic Syndromes provided by Prof. Florence Roufosse from Hôpital Universitaire de Bruxelles (HUB), Site Erasme, Brussels, Belgium (Université Libre de Bruxelles) - 15th of April 2024

Content: overview of eosinophil biology: mechanisms of eosinophil expansion and of eosinophil-mediated damage, the contribution of eosinophils to homeostasis/health; definition of HE and HES; common complications and disease manifestations of HES; overview of classification systems of HES variants based on underlying pathogenesis versus a spectrum of disease manifestations.

N°2 Clonal hypereosinophilic conditions: Chronic eosinophilic leukemia (CEL) + L-HES provided by Prof. Massimo Breccia, from AOU Policlinico Umberto I, Rome, Italy - and prof Florence Roufosse from Hôpital Universitaire de Bruxelles (HUB), Site Erasme, Brussels, Belgium (Université Libre de Bruxelles) - 13th of May 2024
