Flora Peyvandi, MD, PhD, is Professor of Internal Medicine, University of Milan and director of the Angelo Bianchi Bonomi Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center. She is head of the Department of Rare Disorders at the Fondazione IRCCS Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico with 15 ERNs. Since many years, Prof. Peyvandi has been participating in clinical, educational and research activities of different European and International scientific societies and patients' organizations. She is currently the President of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). She serves as advisor on the European Agency of Medicine (EMA) and on the Technical Health Committee of the Italian Ministry of Health. Her H-index of 78 (Scopus), with a large experience in research development in the field of haemostasis and thrombosis.

Sunny Maini, a dedicated advocate for patients with von Willebrand disorder (VWD), lives with severe type 3 VWD. Diagnosed as an infant, he has undergone continuous treatment and frequent hospitalizations throughout his life.
