Dr. Beatrice Nolan is a Consultant Haematologist at the Comprehensive Care Centre for children, located at Children's Health Ireland (CHI) in Crumlin, Dublin. There she leads a dedicated and multidisciplinary team, which includes experts from medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dentistry, and psychology services. Dr. Beatrice Nolan is also a Board Member of PedNet (Pediatric Network on haemophilia management), a collaborative platform for (pediatric) physicians treating children with haemophilia.
Cathy Verbraeken is a member of the EHC von Willebrand Committee and is also the chair of the von Willebrand Committee of the Dutch NMO. Cathy and her two daughters have von Willebrand disease, types 1 and 2N. She is giving her best to advocate for better care, more treatment options, and increased awareness of von Willebrand disease.
Ms. Lawson is a Haemophilia Specialist Nurse, Birmingham Children's Hospital. Qualified as a paediatric nurse in 1992, having trained at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She has been with Birmingham Children's Hospital since 1997. After spending several years in surgery, she transitioned to haematology in 2000, focusing on haemophilia and bleeding disorders for nearly a decade. In addition, she serves as a trustee for the Haemophilia Society.
After graduating in medicine, Mrs. Karin van Galen was trained in the field of internal medicine. She completed her specialisation as a hematologist in 2011 after which she was appointed as Consultant Hematologist at the Department Van Creveldkliniek of the UMC Utrecht. Here she has expanded her clinical experience in the treatment of patients with benign hematological conditions. In addition to patient care Karin van Galen finished a PhD project on joint bleeding in Von Willebrand disease in November 2017 and currently participates in several (inter)national studies on congenital bleeding disorders. She runs post-doc research on pregnancy in inherited bleeding disorders and heavy menstrual bleeding in adolescents, (co)supervises PhD students and is a well-known (inter)national advocate for women and girls with inherited bleeding disorders.
