Celeste Bento is a Molecular Geneticist with a PhD in Biomedicine. She is the coordinator of the Congenital Red Blood Cell Diseases Laboratory at the University Hospital, Coimbra, Portugal (an ERN-EuroBloodNet Member) and researcher at University of Coimbra. Main scientific areas of interest are Red Blood Cell disorders, namely Hemoglobinopathies, Congenital Hemolytic Anemia and Congenital Erythrocytosis. She is member of the board of the Portuguese association for patients with Hemoglobinopathies (APPDH).
