The European Commission together with the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine are supporting the EU healthcare systems and clinicians dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic on the front line

European Commission, DG SANTE has developed a free training programme on Intensive Care Fundamentals for Healthcare Professionals working at hospitals with Intensive Care Units, in all 27 EU Member States and the United Kingdom.

We would like to inform you about the newest initiative of the European Commission to support the EU healthcare systems and clinicians dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic on the front line.  A special programme for training healthcare professionals in intensive care skills has been launched and funded by EC.

For this aim, in August a contract has been signed with the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM)  to develop a dedicated training programme on Intensive Care Fundamentals for Healthcare Professionals not regularly working in Intensive Care Units.

The training is free of charge and is available for every doctor and nurse working at hospital with an Intensive Care Unit, in all 27 EU Member States and the United Kingdom.
