Today, 28th February 2023, Rare Disease Day is held around the world with the aim of raising global awareness amongst the general public and decision-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients' lives.
Among the actions organized by EURORDIS and 65+ national alliance patient organisation partners, an official video of this Rare Disease Day edition has been launched in over 40 languages to kick off the international patient-led campaign.
The 2023 video shines a light on the diverse community of over 300 million people living with a rare disease.
Moreover, the Rare Disease Day team has led to your disposition, material and handbooks you can use to build awareness by:
- sharing your colours via social media (#RareDiseaseDay and #LightUpforRare), events, illuminating buildings, monuments and homes
- shining the light on people living with a rare disease
- sharing experiences online and with friends
- calling on policymakers
