The first International Conference Sickle Cell Disease in Lusophone Countries will be held on June 19, 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal!

The Conference is organized by APPDH in partnership with DrepaComunidade, ALUA, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and ERN-EuroBloodNet.

This first meeting will be held in person and online at the Headquarters of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Communidade de Paises de Lingua Official Portuguesa, CPLP) on June 19, 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal. It will also be broadcast online: https://url.cplp.org/falciforme-youtube.

The Conference will have representatives from the World Health Organization, the European Hematology Association (EHA), ERN-EuroBloodNet, patient advocates, governmental authorities, health ministries, and healthcare professionals from the portuguese speaking countries.

Mariangela Pellegrini, Educational & Patients Program Manager of the ERN-EuroBloodNet, will be speaking in the Panel 1 “LANCET HAEMATOLOGY COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS” about an updated version of our anonymous survey designed to capture the perspectives of those living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD).
