The ERN-EuroBloodNet join the World Castleman Disease Day to raise awareness and fight against this rare disease!

World Castleman disease day is celebrated on 23 June each year to raise awareness of this rare disease.

This 23 June, we are joining World Castleman's Disease Day by spreading the word about this rare disease that affects children and adults alike.

Castleman's disease is a rare condition in which there is an overgrowth of cells in the body's lymph nodes, usually in the chest or abdomen. Most people don't notice any symptoms, but some may experience fever, unintentional weight loss, tiredness, night sweats, nausea and more.

If you are a healthcare professional you can train yourself by following this comprehensive educational program “Spotlight on Castleman Disease” build by the ERN-EuroBloodNet with the EHA (European Hematology Association): Full program videos.

International health days offer great potential to raise awareness and understanding about health issues and mobilise support for action, from the local community to the international stage.
