On 28-29 January, ERN-EuroBloodNet participated in the RealiseD General Assembly Meeting (GAM) in Barcelona, hosted by Teamit at the Recinto Modernista de Sant Pau.
Over two days, partners reviewed first-year achievements, partners reviewed first-year achievements and defined priorities for the year ahead, reaffirming their commitment to patient-centred rare disease research. The meeting program covered sessions dedicated to each work package, keynote presentations, breakout and joint working sessions, as well as strategic discussions and networking activities.
Dr María del Mar Mañú Pereira, ERN-EuroBloodNet Scientific Coordinator & Head of the Rare Anemia Disorders Laboratory at VHIR, contributes to one of the use cases focused on Myelodysplastic and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MDS/MPN), in collaboration with Humanitas University (Italy).
The Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) RealiseD project (compRehensive mEthodological and operational Approach to cLinical trIalS in ultra rarE Diseases) brings together nearly 40 public and private partners to revolutionise clinical trials for rare and ultra-rare diseases. The initiative, under the leadership of Sigmund Freud PrivatUniversität Wien (SFU), aims to optimise and accelerate the development of treatments for over 30 million people living with rare diseases across Europe, the majority of whom suffer from ultra-rare conditions with no available treatment options.
