Dr Maria del Mar Mañú Pereira participated at the European Health Forum Gastein 2026

ERN-EuroBloodNet Co-Coordinator and Chair representing the 24 European Reference Networks, contributed to the session “Unlocking European competitiveness – How the rare disease ecosystem drives health innovation.”

Under the theme "Health for a stronger European Union - High time for action!", the European Health Forum Gastein 2026 took place from 29 September to 2 October in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, bringing together key stakeholders from across the European health landscape.

Dr María del Mar Mañú Pereira, ERN-EuroBloodNet Co-Coordinator and Chair representing the 24 European Reference Networks (ERNs), contributed to the session "Unlocking European competitiveness - How the rare disease ecosystem drives health innovation."

During the session, Dr Mar Mañú highlighted the role of the rare disease ecosystem and the European Reference Networks in driving health innovation and strengthening Europe's health resilience and competitiveness. She also shared insights from the work being carried out through HLM4RARE, highlighting the importance of collaboration and coordinated action to further advance rare disease care and innovation across Europe.
