We are pleased to announce the publication of "Integrating sexual health into sickle cell disease care" in The Lancet Haematology.
The article grew out of the Patients' Sessions organised by ERN-EuroBloodNet and RADeep during ASCAT 2025, the Annual Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Conference in London. That edition focused on sexual health, a topic patients themselves had asked to address. The sessions brought together 27 people living with sickle cell disease and a multidisciplinary team comprising one obstetrician, one internist, two haematologists, and two psychologists, creating an intergenerational and intercultural space, with 13 countries represented to exchange perspectives
The publication brings the experiences and perspectives shared by patients during the sessions to the clinical community, under the title "Integrating sexual health into sickle cell disease care".
